Sky Picnic- Theatre of Shadows (live) April 8, 2016

Sky Picnic "Theatre of Shadows" (Live) April 8, 2016 Bar Matchless, Brooklyn, NY The second to last Sky Picnic Show. Nobody (outside of anyone who attended our shows in early 2016) has heard this. It was part of our transition out of some heavier psych-prog and into more digestible sounds in an effort to break forth, this one a direct Stone Roses influence. Basically, a last ditch to try and "make it" by going away from our wheelhouse. That said, maybe it wasn't the right course for us? We never got around to anything beyond a demo of it (which maybe I'll share at some point) from the Spring of 2016. We were nearing the (amicable) end of the band and my writing started to change where the material didn't fit the band. Hanford Reach was the logical progression; and in fact, that's where a rudimentary version of this was recorded. You'll hear it someday. Somehow, it's been 10 years and I want to get some of the archival stuff just hanging on my computer out to anyone interested. A kind fan recorded this and sent it to me years ago. I almost completely forgot I had it on my computer until a conversation with Pete recently jogged my memory. A recent computer meltdown was the final impetus to get this uploaded so it wouldn't be lost to the hard drive gremlins. Hope you enjoy. Drop a comment if there's anything else you want to see/ hear of ours and hopefully I have access to it. Chris (10/25/26)
