Most of the logs range from 400 to 700 mm in diameter and have been seasoned for a few months.
The wood types used in testing include ash, apple, cherry, and pear.
The frame is built from two C-channels measuring 100x50 mm.
The main hydraulic cylinder features a 63 mm outer diameter, 400 mm stroke, and delivers nearly 6 tons of splitting force.
The splitting wedge is made from a 100x20 mm flat bar and includes adjustable height from 0 up to 130 mm.
For mobility, I used hubs, wheels, and brakes taken from a small ATV.
The lifting structure is constructed from a 50x50x5 mm steel angle, paired with a lifting cylinder that has a 200 mm stroke.
