Sweden 2013 Part 1 Steam - Hultsfred–Västervik Railway

A RTC trip to Sweden to sample the railway scene on 4th -13th July 2013. Featured in Part 1 is A trip on the preserved 3ft gauge Hultsfred–Västervik Railway from Västervik to Hultsfred. From Västervik to Ankarsrum behind Swedish Railways (SJ) Kalmar Verkstads 2-6-2T 3037 (1919) and then onwards to Hultsfred in Swedish Railways (SJ) Hilding Carlssons Mekaniska Verkstad UCFo3yp Trailer 1791 (1952 Umeå) and YBo5p Railcar 900 (1955 Umeå). The line is 71km long and used to continue on from Hultsfred to Växjö making a total length of 187 km. In August 1984 SJ withdrew passenger traffic but freight continued until the beginning of 1986 and efforts were made to preserve a least a part of it.
