St Thomas City Railway Capital Of Canada 2019 located in Southwestern Ontario Canada. St Thomas was an important railway city, employing the majority of it's citizens in the late 1800's in the railway industry. There are many railway lines in the St Thomas and at it's peak was a stop on a shortcut railway line between Detroit and Buffalo. The Massive Canada Southern Railway Station (CASO) is a remaining testament to the importance of St Thomas as a railway city and transport hub. St Thomas is also home to some wonderful Victorian architecture a legacy from the wealth that the railway brought to St Thomas. Notable buildings include the City Hall, Courthouse and the Old Railway Station. Barnum and Baileys star attraction Jumbo The Elephant was tragically killed by a train in 1885, a monument to Jumbo has been built in St Thomas a life size statue of Jumbo.
