Brandon Ellis Jackson Kelly Pro Series Green Crackle 2021 // Neural DSP Quad Cortex (I Am A Viking)

Got this Brandon Ellis Jackson Kelly Pro Series Signature guitar a while ago. The Green Crackle finish is absolutely stunning in person and the poplar body is surprisingly light. The single Seymour Duncan PATB-1 pickup kicks ass and just SCREAMS - bold mids, sparkly top end and rich harmonics. The neck profile is the classic Jackson speed neck D-shape. The dark ebony fretboard and the black binding highlight the awesome reverse pearloid sharkfin inlays. As far as finishing goes, i got no complaints - after a proper setup and some hardware upgrades it plays like absolute butter and is just as good as any other Jackson i've ever played. However, the guitar was not without issues; out of the box, the Floyd Rose locking nut was loose and made a clicking sound when depressing the tremolo arm. The tuners also creaked and popped. The mechanical parts and assembly felt for a lack of a better word cheap. Makes you wonder what exactly is going on with the quality control over at Jackson Guitars. All in all, the Brandon Ellis Jackson Kelly Pro series signature is a pretty bitchin' axe. It's not exactly versatile, but it excels at the one thing it's meant to do - high gain shredding.
