The imposing castle of Ankara is perched on a hill high above the city. The history of Ankara Castle, one of the symbols of Ankara, is as old as the history of the city. It is not known exactly when it was built during the Galatians' settlement in Ankara. They divided the castle into two parts, the inner and outer city. But the inner walls of the castle, which consists of two parts, an inner and an outer castle, were built by the Byzantines in the 7th century. The castle was used by different peoples in the course of time .Throughout history, the castle has been destroyed and rebuilt many times by different kings. Today, there are many houses left from Ottoman’s Ankara in the castle. Some of these are repaired and used as restaurants and shops. Inside the castle there are numerous carpet sellers and antique dealers. The former horse market now sells aromatic smelling spices. Today, the castle is a historical attraction in the old town .There is a link between the upper and lower walls called the Sark Kale and Visitors can climb it to overlook the whole city. There are two different routes to go to the castle, both of which we walked. But these two routes are the same at the beginning and in the middle of the video, the routes are separated.
