======== DETAILS ON HOW TO USE THE POWER SWORD BELOW ========    • How to ACTUALLY use the POWER SWORD in Spa...   - Fundemental tips on how to use the Power Swords optimally.    • How to ACTUALLY use the POWER SWORD in Spa...   - Why the Power Sword is good against Chaos The Techmarine functions slightly differently on Techmarine than on the Assault and Bulwark due to not having access to an animation cancel. This can sometimes make Power Whirl a more risky attack to pull of when fighting large groups. However, this can largely be solved with the correct use of the Techmarine’s unique servo turret gun strikes and attacks that stagger. Servo Turret Gun Strikes - A gun strike will stun your enemy and other enemies close by, after setting up a gun strike generally through a parry or dodge you can begin to setup and execute your Power Whirl safely. Just before you start your Power Whirl or as soon as an enemy goes to attack you, activate your gun strike to stun the enemies which will give you more than enough time to complete a full Power Whirl safely. Additionally you can use heavy stagger attacks to stun multiple enemies and setup a safe Power Whirl. A benefit of fencing and balance Power Sword variants is that simply the act of a perfect parry will stun enemies enough to let you Power Whirl in relative safely. I would still not suggest using balance weapons on Techmarine if you are doing the hardest content. While they are better 95% of the time, the 5% of times where they aren’t can get you stun locked and killed. When you are completely surrounded it is okay to Power Rake if you don’t feel safe enough to Power Whirl however this should be used sparingly as it’s lower DPS and AOE will dramatically reduce your overall melee damage. Not that to make Power Rake even remotely comparable in damage to Power Whirl you need to take the 20% increased charged damage perk on Techmarine which means forgoing the perk that gives you 25% ranged damage reduction on a parry which is a very powerful perk. Techmarine want’s all the defensive bonuses he can get due to being the weakest class which is another reason the charged damage perk is very sub optimal on him. Salamander Power Sword Tip - I see many people over using light attacks on the Salamander Power Sword this is wasteful and generally suboptimal for the following reasons: If you have charges from parries, speed style light attacks do the highest dps only when fighting ag SINGLE TARGET. As soon as there is even a second target its damage is drastically lower than using Power Whirl. An enhanced speed style light attacks does 55 damage to a Power Whirls 83, so one Power Whirl does the same damage as 3 light attacks IF you have charges and takes only slightly longer. Instead use those charges on the setup attack before power whirl as this will allow you to hit new break points no other Power Sword can hit. Use the charges when fighting a terminus in melee for maximum damage Use the charges to quickly gain back contested health using the 100% increased speed style contested health gain weapon perk on the Power Sword Use the charges on empowered dash attacks to setup a Power Whirl If you spam light attack you will regularly run out of charges unless you are surrounded by enemies. In that instance your effective dps will be exceptionally low if you only use light attacks. These empowered attacks can be used in a pinch to quickly get enemies into execute when you need armour or safety of an execute animation. Note that if you are using the Salamander Power Sword skin, the weapon has a slight glow effect when you have charges remaining. Any questions, just throw them in the comments and I’ll get back to you.
