Explore the heart of Oslo, Norway, on a continuous walking tour from the Royal Palace to Oslo Central Station, following Karl Johans gate through the historic city centre. Beginning at the Royal Palace, we walk down Oslo's main street, passing some of the Norwegian capital's most recognisable landmarks, historic buildings, sculptures and public spaces. Along the way, we explore the area around the National Theatre, including the Peacock Fountain and statues honouring Wenche Foss, Ludvig Holberg, Henrik Ibsen and Johan Halvorsen. This 1.7 km walk of 27 minutes continues through Spikersuppa, past its fountain and towards the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget), where we take a closer look at the famous stone lions guarding Løvebakken. We then return to Karl Johans gate, taking in views of the historic Grand Hotel before continuing through Egertorget, with its iconic Freia advertisement. Further down the street, we make a short detour to Oslo Cathedral and Kirkeristen before continuing towards Oslo Central Station (Oslo S). Our journey ends at the famous Tiger sculpture at Jernbanetorget, one of Oslo's most recognisable landmarks. Experience the atmosphere of Oslo as it really is, with its architecture, public spaces, everyday city life and authentic environmental sounds. No narration. No music. No artificial sound effects. Just one continuous walk through the Norwegian capital.
