This car is on Bring a Trailer right now! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/193... Enjoy this POV drive of a 1937 Bentley 4¼ Litre Special Four-Seat Tourer Speeding Along From the seller's description: "This 1937 Bentley 4¼ Litre began its life as a saloon that was first registered in Huddersfield, England, and is recorded as having remained in Yorkshire through the late 1940s before later moving to Wales and then back to England in 1960. Chassis B17KU is said to have been purchased several decades ago by a US Naval officer serving in London who subsequently brought the car to the US and stored it in his mother’s barn for approximately two decades before initiating disassembly with the intent of a refurbishment. The car was instead sold in 1991 to the seller, who sent it to the UK for the completion of a refurbishment that included the fabrication of tube-framed rolled-steel bodywork in the style of a 3 Litre four-seat tourer with cut-down doors. After its completion, the car was driven on a Bentley Drivers Club tour in Europe and on several UK trips before being placed in storage until approximately five years ago. It was then brought to the US two years ago and is said to have completed a 1,200-mile tour in May 2026. Finished in maroon, the car is powered by a 4,257cc inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission that has been fitted with a Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive unit. Additional features include twin SU carburetors, servo-assisted mechanical brakes, hydraulic shock absorbers that are adjustable from the steering wheel, 18” black-painted wire wheels, a black convertible top, and gray leatherette upholstery with red piping. This custom-bodied Derby Bentley is now offered with invoices from current ownership, photos from the 1990s refurbishment, previous UK registration documents, an owner’s manual, and a Rhode Island title in the seller’s name. Introduced in 1936, the 4¼-liter model shared its 3,200mm wheelbase with the outgoing 3½ Litre platform while offering increased power output. Like that of its predecessor, the 4¼ Litre chassis was built at the Rolls-Royce factory in Derby, England, before being outfitted with bodywork by a variety of coachbuilders. This example’s saloon body was replaced rearward of the cowl with custom coachwork that is said to have been designed by Tim Houlding and the seller and fabricated by Randal Stewart in the UK.
