First String Perfection, And So Much More | Steve Porter 2025 for GuitarCollection.com

In this video, I share my first experience featuring a guitar from California luthier Steve Porter, built specifically for GuitarCollection.com. I’ve known of Steve’s work for years—his guitars are powerful, refined, and endlessly musical—and this brand new 2025 model more than lives up to that reputation. 🎸 See the full listing and photo album here: https://guitarcollection.com/products... The first string on this guitar is unreal—incredibly present, clear, and responsive, with warmth and richness rarely found on instruments with this kind of projection. This cedar, lattice-braced design also features Indian rosewood back and sides, a raised fingerboard, large soundports, and subtle modern aesthetic details that nod to legends like Daniel Friedrich and Tom Humphrey. If you’ve been looking for a bold, concert-ready instrument with exceptional sustain and a lyrical, inspiring voice, this one is worth hearing. 00:00:00 Introductory demo 00:00:43 Introductory remarks 00:01:36 The specs 00:03:29 The sound 00:04:12 individual string demonstrations 00:07:14 Capricho árabe by Francisco Tárrega 00:09:25 Prelude no. 11 by Francisco Tárrega 00:10:40 Julia Florida by Agustín Barrios 00:13:17 Registro by Antonio Lauro 00:13:52 Pavana by Francisco Tárrega 📬 Questions about this guitar?
