Australian total solar eclipses - history and coming soon

On 14 October 2026, the Astronomical Society of Australia (ASA)'s History of Australian Astronomy Chapter (HAAC) in collaboration with the ASA Eclipse Working Group hosted this webinar, which invited four speakers to examine historic solar eclipses and the Australia wide eclipse that will occur in 2028. The speakers and their topics are as follows: Nick Lomb: A Tale of two Cities: Sydney 1857 and Melbourne 1976. Fred Watson: Proof of Einstein's General Relativity. Melissa Hulbert: Observing the 2002, 2012 and 2023 total solar eclipses. Kirsten Banks: Aspirations for the 2028 eclipse.
