The NEEWER Q120 120Ws TTL Outdoor Studio Flash surprised me in ways I didn’t expect.
In this video, I take the NEEWER Q120 into the real world and put it through a full portrait photography test with Filipina model Tania. We tested the flash outdoors in a Philippine park under both direct sunlight and open shade, then moved into the studio for beauty portraits, half-body shots, and full-length fashion images.
For the outdoor portion of the shoot, I used the Sony A1 paired with the Sigma 105mm F1.4, shooting wide open at F1.4. In the studio, I switched to the Sony 50mm F1.2 while continuing to use the Sony A1.
One of the biggest surprises was the flash’s compatibility with the Godox X3 trigger for Sony. The NEEWER Q120 integrated seamlessly into my existing workflow and performed flawlessly throughout the session.
