Dean Forest Railway - Enjoy the Magic of Steam

Come with us on a magical ride on a Steam Train at the Dean Forest Railway. The 4.5 mile line runs through beautiful woodland and countryside, offering you a chance to experience the relaxing pace of a typical country branch line. With five stations along the way, you have time to explore the local area, taking in woodland walks and country pubs or venturing down to the Severn estuary to explore Lydney Harbour with its fantastic views across the Severn. In Part 1 we allow you to enjoy the sight and sounds of the Steam Train a sight and sound that takes you back in time to an age when the pace of life was not so hectic. We have not added any commentary so that you can enjoy the sounds of this magical Steam locomotive. We will be adding a part 2 video later where we will show what is on offer around the line where you can enjoy a fantastic relaxing day. Part 2 includes a look at the Lydney Harbour with some amazing views over the River Severn to Sharness. The main station of the railway is located at Norchard, in the middle of the line, where you will find a large, free car park and our shop, museum and café. Steam train services on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from mid-March to early November. There are also a number of specials which include Santa Specials in the run up to Christmas and our Mince Pie and also lots of evening specials, including Evening Fish & Chip Suppers, Dining Trains, Murder Mysteries and Gin Trains.
