In Santa Maria de Jetibá, I meet members of the Pomeranian community, whose ancestors came from Pomerania, a historical region of Europe. They share their stories about their history, language, traditions, work, and daily life, as well as the challenges of keeping their cultural identity alive. The Pomeranian language is becoming less common among younger generations, but people in the community are working to preserve it and pass their heritage on to the future.
