📍 Welcome to Dunga Bunga, a historic town located around 28 kilometers from Bahawalnagar in Punjab, Pakistan. Before the Partition of 1947, this small but culturally rich town was part of the former Bahawalpur State and was known for its railway station, canal system, old British-era bungalows, traditional neighborhoods, and peaceful multicultural society.
In this documentary, we explore the hidden and forgotten history of Dunga Bunga, including the story of the Bishnoi Hindu community that once lived here for generations before migrating to Rajasthan and other parts of India during the Partition of 1947.
This video covers:

✅ Old temple and historical architecture
✅ Joia, Rao, Qureshi and other communities living here today
✅ Cultural heritage of former Bahawalpur State
Dunga Bunga is not just a town — it is a forgotten chapter of Punjab’s shared history. The old streets, abandoned structures, and local memories still reflect the presence of the Bishnoi Hindu families who once called this place home.
The Bishnoi community is famous across South Asia for protecting nature, wildlife, and preserving ancient traditions. Many families from Dunga Bunga migrated to India, especially to Rajasthan and Bikaner, during the tragic events of Partition in 1947.
Today, traces of that rich history can still be found in the old mohallas, railway buildings, canal colonies, and surviving heritage structures of Dunga Bunga.
