On August 9, 1877, the 7th Infantry attacked a sleeping Nez Perce camp in Montana's Big Hole valley. The Army wrote one account. The Nez Perce told another. In 1991 the National Park Service had the ground surveyed with metal detectors and crime-lab firearms analysis. This video follows what the brass showed. Told from published sources; no events are invented. Sources: Douglas D. Scott, A Sharp Little Affair: The Archeology of the Big Hole Battlefield (1994).
