東京　光と闇の入り混じるカオス新宿百人町を歩く／TOKYO Shinjuku Hyakunincho walking.

東京新宿百人町。この地名の由来は徳川時代にまで遡ると言う。江戸幕府西域を守るために鉄砲隊が置かれていたこの街は現在、多国籍が入り乱れる街へと変貌を遂げた。街ですれ違う影は同じ様に見えるが、光に照らされた実体は様々な色彩を纏っている。調和か混沌か。実際に街を歩き確かめたいと思う。 Hyakunincho, Shinjuku, Tokyo. The origins of this neighborhood’s name are said to date back to the Tokugawa era. Once home to a unit of riflemen stationed here to defend the western approaches to Edo, the city’s old capital, Hyakunincho has since transformed into a place where people from all corners of the world converge. The silhouettes passing one another in the streets may seem much the same at first glance. Yet, when illuminated by the light, each reveals a different hue, a different shade of color. Harmony or chaos? I want to walk these streets myself and find out.
