Every round, we draw one new line across the world map. If it touches your country, even one tiny island, your country is deleted. 🗺️ First the famous lines: the Equator, the tropics, the polar circles, the Prime Meridian and the 180° line. Then the lines turn into a grid that gets tighter every round, until only one of 195 countries is left.
⚠️ This is a geography game played on real map data. It is not a prediction and nothing here really happens to any country.

📏 Rules: 195 countries = the 193 UN member states plus Vatican City and Palestine. A country counts the land that is legally part of it (for example Alaska, Hawaii, French Guiana or Bornholm), but not dependencies or self-governing territories (for example Greenland, Puerto Rico or Bermuda). Morocco is counted without Western Sahara.
📊 Data: country borders from Natural Earth (1:10m Admin 0), so small islands and borders are approximate. The tropics and polar circles use Earth's 2026 axial tilt (23.44°). The shapes of San Marino, Monaco and Vatican City, and the islet of Ilhéu das Rolas, were corrected by hand from their real extreme points.
Real facts in this video: the Equator is about 40,075 km long · Ecuador is named after the Equator · the Equator crosses land in São Tomé and Príncipe only on the islet of Ilhéu das Rolas · in the Maldives and Kiribati the Equator only crosses water · the Tropic of Cancer passes through 8 Indian states · a spire in Rockhampton, Australia, marks the Tropic of Capricorn · the Arctic Circle crosses Iceland only on the island of Grímsey, drifts north about 14.5 m a year and is expected to leave Grímsey around 2047 · in 1884 the International Meridian Conference chose Greenwich as 0° longitude · GPS puts 0° about 100 m east of the Greenwich line · the 180° meridian crosses the island of Taveuni in Fiji, and the International Date Line bends so all of Fiji shares one date · 30°N crosses the Japanese island of Kuchinoshima · 15°E crosses the Danish island of Bornholm · Sierra Leone's northern border stops just short of 10°N · the Degree Confluence Project has been visiting whole-degree crossings since 1996 · Nauru is the smallest island country · 12.5°E clips the eastern edge of San Marino · Vatican City (0.49 km²) is the smallest country on Earth; its southern tip is at 41°54′00.78″N, about 24 m north of 41.9°N.
