Luffy is Smarter Than You Think.

Luffy is one of those characters that has a way of speaking to people. He brings out sides of people that they thought they had long lost. He's always trying, and is brave and while it may look reckless to some, he knows what he wants and wont stop at anything to get to it. One Piece has a legion of amazingly written characters and character arcs and while Luffy's story looks the simplest in theory, it is the most profound when you realise that it is so elastic (no puns intended) that it can embrace or devour the rest. He is the lens, the mascot, the face of One Piece and is so beautifully written that no matter how many decades pass, he'll always be a shining example for all of us to always keep trying, never give up and that as long as we are alive, we'll have infinite chances. Oda is a genius at writing brilliant characters, some more than the others, but to continue to keep evolving them as the story progresses is a feet not many can achieve.
