I’m back with another adventure! 🇯🇵🥾
This time, I’m hiking Mount Tsukuba (筑波山) in Ibaraki, one of the most famous mountains in the Kanto region.
I started the hike from the base and made my way through the beautiful forest towards Nyotai-san (女体山) and Nantai-san (男体山) , the two main peaks of Mount Tsukuba.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t exactly on my side. 🌧️ The rain and mist covered the mountain, so I didn’t get the beautiful panoramic view I was hoping for. But honestly, the rain, fog, and lush green trees created a completely different kind of beauty.
Along the way, I also visited Tsukubasan Shrine (筑波山神社) and Ōmidō Temple (大御堂) and learned a little about the history, mythology, and spiritual significance of Mount Tsukuba.
This video is also meant to show what it’s actually like to hike Mount Tsukuba from the base — the effort, the tiredness, the rain, and finally the feeling of reaching the peaks. Hopefully, it gives you a better idea of what to expect if you’re planning to hike it yourself.
📍 Location: Mount Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan
⛰️ Peaks: Nyotai-san (877m) & Nantai-san (871m)
