Apostle Isi Igenegba examines ten forms of deception that can influence our choices, distort our understanding of God's Word, and affect how we walk in the liberty we have received in Christ.
Drawing from Scripture, including the account of Adam and Eve and the temptations of Jesus, she explains how deception can appeal to our desires, insecurities, fears, and unmet expectations. She challenges believers to recognize these influences, take responsibility for their choices, and remain grounded in what God has said.
In this message, she explores 10 deceptions:
1. Deception concerning the Word of God — questioning or doubting what God has said.
2. Deception concerning personal worth — allowing insecurity and the desire for validation to influence our understanding of who we are.
3. Deception concerning satisfaction — believing that something we desire will resolve every inner hunger.
4. Deception concerning the consequences of our choices — treating grace as permission to disregard God's commands.
5. Deception concerning nakedness and vulnerability — hiding our wounds and refusing the openness necessary for healthy relationships.
6. Deception of plundering — treating people and relationships as opportunities for personal gain, status, power, or material benefit.
7. Deception of fear — allowing fear to influence our decisions and interfere with our calling.
8. Deception of blame — focusing on the faults of others instead of taking responsibility for our own actions.
9. Deception of hiding from God — living as though our private choices and actions are hidden from His sight.
10. Deception of a hardened heart — believing we can continue to rule on behalf of God while our hearts have become hardened.
Throughout this teaching, Apostle Isi emphasizes that freedom in Christ is not simply the ability to do whatever we desire. It is the liberty to choose God, obey His commands, and submit our free will to Him.
REFLECTION: Are there desires, fears, wounds, or patterns of thinking influencing your choices and affecting how you walk in the freedom Christ has given you?
