Your suddenly may be closer than you think — but is your faith ready to receive it? In this powerful sermon, Pastor Mike Jr. teaches how faith, obedience, disappointment, doubt, distraction, spiritual conditioning, and past pain can determine whether you are prepared for what God is already doing behind the scenes.
Pastor Mike Jr. continues the “Suddenly” series with a central truth:
Suddenly does not mean there was no process.
Suddenly is God revealing what He has already been working on.
But this message asks another question:
Do you have the faith to receive what you keep declaring?
Pastor Mike Jr. explains:
Faith is the hand that receives what grace has already provided.
God’s ability has never been the issue. The issue can be whether our belief is prepared to receive what He has already made available.
The sermon defines faith not as wishful thinking, pretending, or positive thinking, but as:
Confidence in the character of God before you see the hand of God.
Pastor Mike Jr. then makes another crucial distinction:
Suddenly is not activated by desperation. Suddenly is received by faith.
Faith does not deny reality.
Faith acknowledges what is real while believing that God’s reality is greater.
This message also identifies several forms of weakened faith.
Dead faith
Dead faith hears God’s Word but never moves on it.
You know what to do — but you do not obey. Pastor Mike Jr. connects this to James 2 and warns that many people may be waiting on God while God is waiting on their obedience.
Domesticated faith
This is faith that has been tamed by yesterday’s pain.
Repeated disappointment can train you to stop expecting miracles. Trauma may not completely destroy faith — sometimes it simply shrinks it.
Pastor Mike Jr. illustrates this through Israel repeatedly seeing God deliver them, only to lose confidence as soon as the next problem appeared.
He then gives one of the strongest lines in the sermon:
Some people don’t need more faith. They need healing from disappointment.
Double-minded faith
This is faith divided between God’s promise and human doubt.
Pastor Mike Jr. closes this section with Peter walking on water.
Peter does not sink while looking at Jesus.
He begins to sink after shifting his attention to the wind and waves.
That leads to perhaps the strongest practical takeaway:
Your suddenly may not require more power. It may require fewer distractions.
This sermon will help you understand:
how faith receives what grace provides
why disappointment can weaken expectation
dead faith vs active faith
domesticated faith
double-minded faith
obedience and breakthrough
healing from spiritual disappointment
past pain and future faith
keeping your eyes on Jesus
overcoming distraction
conditioning your faith
trusting God without visible evidence
preparing for your suddenly season
Get your faith back.
Heal what disappointment damaged.
Stop feeding doubt.
Obey what God already told you.
Reduce the distractions.
And prepare your faith for what God is about to reveal.
