Battania battle track from Living Calradia. Eira ferch Taran, known as Blackthorn of Seonon, lures a column of Vlandian heavy cavalry into Dun Glund's pass using cold campfires, false tracks, and an abandoned cart. When the Vlandian captain curses the ambushing archers as thieves and ghosts, Eira spots the cloth of his stolen cloak: red thread woven on her own mother's loom before his men burned her village. Lyrics: I am Eira ferch Taran, Blackthorn of Seonon’s rain. I learned the names of every burned home and carved them into pain. Vlandia came in red and gold, with iron men and bells. Their horses shook the fernwood leaves, their priests promised us hell. They rode through Marunath’s empty fields, past Pen Cannoc’s smoke. They thought the greenwood had gone still - they never heard it wake. Ride on, red knights, ride on. Let your banners face the sun. The forest keeps what roads forget; your war has just begun. No shield can turn the thorn behind, no oath can make you whole. I loosed the grief of Battania until my quiver closed. I buried fires beneath the rain, sent false tracks toward the west. I left one broken cart in view and let them do the rest. At Dun Glund’s pass I watched them go, helm after helm, in line. I waited till their last scout passed - then gave the hawk’s cry sign. The first shaft struck the baggage lord, the second took the guide. The third found mail beneath the arm where proud red cloaks divide. From oak and stone we answered them, from heather, mist, and thorn. They turned to face an empty hill and found the dead behind. Ride on, red knights, ride on. Let your banners face the sun. The forest keeps what roads forget; your war has just begun. No shield can turn the thorn behind, no oath can make you whole. I loosed the grief of Battania until my quiver closed. Their captain raised a silver blade and called us thieves and ghosts. I saw my village woven there upon his stolen cloak. The cloth had been my mother’s loom, the red thread from our door. He wore our winter like a crown - I made him wear no more. One arrow for the childless field, one arrow for the dead. One arrow for the harp-string cut, one arrow for the bread. The final shaft I kept for him, the lord who named us prey. I placed it through his battle flag and watched the red fold away. Ride on, red knights, ride on. The western road is bare. Your horses carry no victory, only our frozen air. We did not meet you in the sun where noble swords are shown. We became the dark behind your backs - and made the forest known. My quiver hangs empty now. The rain has washed the land. If Vlandia returns with ten thousand lances, Battania will still stand. For every arrow leaves a name, and every name takes root. The last shaft fell, but not the thorn - the greenwood still remembers. Soundtrack MP3 ZIP download: https://hyron.io/storage/public/KWPriX2X2T...
