The game was released for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 consoles, as well as the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PC platforms. While certain aspects of the original Battlefront were brought over to the sequel, Battlefront 2 saw new features introduced such as new vehicles, playable Jedi/Sith, new characters, game mechanics, maps, and missions, along with a more streamlined narrative style campaign. A critical commercial success, Battlefront 2 has since become a beloved classic in the world of gaming.
