The Branches of Government - Exploring How Leaders Work Together

In this social studies lesson for upper elementary, students will explore the three branches of government and how they work together to run the country. With the help of a civics expert, they will learn about the roles of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, and why having multiple leaders is important in a democracy. By the end of the lesson, students will understand the concept of checks and balances and recognize how government decisions impact their daily lives.
