As a beginner filmmaker, I wanted to create videos that looked cinematic rather than just "good enough". After a lot of research, I chose the Sony A6700 paired with the Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 instead of filming on an iPhone or action camera. ✅ Better low-light performance ✅ True background separation and depth of field ✅ More control over colour, exposure and white balance ✅ Wider dynamic range for sunsets, landscapes and travel videos ✅ Professional Sony's S-Cinetone colour straight out of camera ✅ Ultra-wide 13mm view that's perfect for vlogging, travel and cinematic B-roll Don't get me wrong, modern phones and action cameras are incredible, but they still rely heavily on computational processing. With the A6700, what you capture feels more natural, more immersive and much closer to the look of professional films. As a beginner, I've found that learning shutter speed, frame rates, zebras, histograms and manual white balance has been challenging, but it's also helping me understand filmmaking far more than simply pressing record on a phone. I'm currently shooting: 🎥 25fps 🎥 1/50 shutter speed 🎥 S-Cinetone 🎥 Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 🎥 Manual white balance What's your camera setup, and if you're still using a phone, what's stopping you from making the jump to a dedicated camera? Any tips are welcome #SonyA6700 #Viltrox13mm #CinematicVideo #BeginnerFilmmaker #ContentCreator #SonyAlpha #TravelFilmmaking #VideoCreator #SCinetone #LearnFilmmaking
