The Local 913: Chet Vincent & The Music Industry

Chet Vincent has been a staple of the Pittsburgh music scene for nearly 20 years. He’s fronted bands like The Big Bend and Biirdwatcher while playing with a smattering of other Pittsburgh players in their projects. These days, he fronts Chet Vincent & The Music Industry — an amalgamation of those previous bands and others Chet has collaborated with through the years. This month, Chet & Co. are releasing the full-length album “Static on the Radio.” It’s a wonderful listen full of love songs, not so love-y songs, and stories culled from situations both real and imagined. The playing is excellent, of course, and Chet’s voice shines. The band are hosting an album release show on Saturday, March 28 at The Sanctuary at Mr. Smalls, which is home to Mr. Smalls’ recording studio — and yes, the tape will be running, capturing the concert for a potential live album down the road. Some standout songs on the album include: “She Was The Only One Dancing,” “Sweet Mary,” “Staring At The Sun,” and the album’s title track.
