And now I will show you the most excellent way.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 *have not love… Love explained… [4-7] Patient - acceptance of delay Kind - others before self Generous - does not take or withhold Humble - having but not imposing Considerate - attentive to others Compassionate - empathy that moves to action Forbearing - shows restraint Forgiving - willing to surrender retribution Virtuous - seeks truth over unrighteousness, is not afraid of reality Protects - “bears all things” = means to roof over, cover in silence Trusting - belief that leads to action Hopeful - assured of the truth Enduring - to persevere under pressure = think pillars or walls Love is eternal… [8-13] We will have no need for prophecy - we will not live in the unknown. We will have no need for tongues - because God will restore what Babel inflicted. We will need new knowledge - the knowledge of this world will pass away. [See Revelation 21-22] Faith and hope will be fulfilled, but love is never completed!
