In this video, I’m sharing 5 of my favorite locomotion patterns that I regularly use in my movement practice.
Locomotion is one of my favorite ways to explore movement because it combines strength, mobility, coordination, balance, body awareness and creativity. Rather than simply learning isolated movements, locomotion allows us to connect different movement patterns and continuously explore what the body is capable of.
In this session, I’ll break down five locomotion patterns that you can use for movement training, mobility, bodyweight training, animal flow, functional movement and movement exploration.
These patterns are suitable for different levels and can be adapted depending on your experience, mobility and strength.
Whether you’re interested in Movement Practice, Locomotion, Animal Flow, Calisthenics, Mobility Training, Bodyweight Training, Handstand Training, Functional Movement or developing better body control, I hope you can take some inspiration from these patterns and make them your own.
The goal isn’t simply to collect more movements. It’s to understand how movements connect, explore different possibilities and keep developing your physical practice.
The 5 locomotion patterns:
[Lizard Crawl]
[Reverse Lizard Crawl]
[Rolé]
[L-Sit Rotation]
[Cosack Insertion]
