For the Nights You Can't Sleep and the Burdens You Can't Carry

Dear Friend, Have you ever reached a point in your life where you felt like you were barely keeping your head above water? Maybe the bills keep coming, but the money never seems to stretch far enough. Maybe your health isn't what it used to be, and even the simplest things have become a struggle. Perhaps you've spent so many years taking care of everyone else that you've forgotten what it feels like to have someone take care of you. As long as his eyes were on the Lord, he walked upon the water. But when he saw the wind and the waves, fear took hold, and he began to sink. And what did Peter cry out? *"Lord, save me."* The Bible tells us in Matthew 14:31: "And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him..." Oh, what a beautiful reminder. Jesus didn't wait until Peter figured everything out. He didn't tell him to swim a little harder. He didn't stand on the water and watch him struggle. He reached down and caught him. And I believe that same loving Savior is still reaching for us today. Maybe your circumstances won't change overnight. Maybe the bills will still be there tomorrow. Maybe the loneliness won't disappear the moment this song ends. But you don't have to face those troubled waters alone. The Lord who carried you through yesterday is still holding you today.
