Sami (Alison Sweeney) confronts Brandon (Matt Cedeño) again, pushing him to own up to what he did to Austin instead of skipping town, and it is clear she genuinely wants him to face this the right way. At the hospital, Carrie (Christie Clark) is still reeling over Austin's rejection until Craig (Kevin Spirtas) clears up the confusion, revealing that Austin's words were about Sami all along, not her, and sends Carrie off to track her sister down. Meanwhile, Abe (James Reynolds) keeps pressing Lexie (Renée Jones) to give up Brandon's location, laying out a history that includes a previous incident that left someone in a coma, but Lexie stands firm, convinced there is more going on beneath the surface, all while quietly wondering if she might be pregnant. When Carrie finally finds Sami with Brandon, the sisters go at it hard, with Sami putting the blame for the whole Austin situation squarely on Carrie. Brandon later slips into Austin's room to apologize and explain himself, only for Craig to spot him and immediately alert Abe. Over at the police station, John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) arrive to deal with Belle (Kirsten Storms) and Shawn's (Jason Cook) situation, and Gina (Kristian Alfonso) has an oddly unsettling moment with John that Belle notices right away when her "aunt" doesn't react the way she expects. Bo (Peter Reckell) eventually lets Shawn out of his cell after Gina steps in on his behalf, though Shawn is still not ready to forgive either parent. Meanwhile in France, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) wakes up disoriented, and even being told Kurt (Matthew Mahaney) is her husband does nothing to jog her memory.
