Skatalites—Pink Champagne, 1990

Just a one-camera capture of the legendary legendaries: Tommy McCook (saxophone), Roland Alphonso (saxophone), Lloyd Knibb, (drums) Lloyd Brevett (bass),, Nathan Breedlove (trumpet), Joshua Roseman (trombone), Devon James on guitar, aka. the Skatalites. Rare footage shot at SOB's in New York City, on December 19, 1990, just 3 days after the passing of fellow legend, Jackie Mittoo...which everyone was still mourning. "Pink Champagne" is a rock steady song, which is a slower tempo than ska, and another step in the development of reggae. I am not a musicologist, so I welcome contributions from those more knowledgeable than me to provide this channel's viewers with a more comprehensive history for channel on the Skatalites' vital place in Jamaica's musical history. Give thanks
