The repair continues. Some things went well. Some things... September was perfect for salmon fishing, and good fishing conditions continued into October. We didn't know it yet, but or fishing for the year would be over, at least for a while. The boat has acquired scuffs and scars over the years. I'd repainted it once and it was due again. On our last launch, the dory bumped the corner of the floating dock. It wasn't a hard bump, but it sounded more like a crunch than a solid bump. I forgot about it immediately, though, and when I noticed missing paint while cleaning the boat at home, I remembered the strange sound. The farther I dig into the rot, the more I have to cut out of the boat. I begin to wonder if I'm going to reach a point of no return. It's hard to believe it's been ten years since I built the dory.
