Before there was Dogs4Diabetics, there was just an idea: what if a dog could sense something a person couldn't feel yet? I was the first to try. My job was to catch the scent changes that come with low blood sugar — sometimes minutes before my person, Mark, even knew something was wrong. It worked. And, it worked well enough to set a Guinness World Record. But the real record isn't the one with my name on it. It's every dog that came after me — trained the same way, carrying the same promise: I'll notice before you do. That's the whole reason NICST exists. And it's why every dog we place still goes to their person at no charge, always. I was the first. I wasn't the last. And applications are always open — for youth and adults.
