Doing a Disney Cruise back to back with autistic kids? We finished a 4-night sailing on the Disney Dream and got straight back on for a 3-night - here’s every step, exactly how long turnaround day took, and what it’s really like on an empty ship.
We booked our two sailings separately but they showed together in the Disney Cruise app. For us it was the longest we’ve ever had on a Disney ship, and worked out slightly more affordable than one longer sailing.
If you’re planning a disney cruise back to back from Southampton, this is your step-by-step guide - from the back-to-back letter on the last night, meeting in Evolution Bar by 9:15am, handing in key cards, exiting through the terminal, waiting to re-board, free coffee at Vista Cafe, meeting Mickey with no queue, lunch at Animator’s Palette, and getting back to the same stateroom early.
We also share our neurodiverse family tips that made it work: booking the same room so no packing / moving, requesting the same serving team, using visual aids and a Find Mickey mission during waits, choosing a calm lunch away from loud atrium announcements, and how we handled two muster drills.
TIMES RECAP from our day:
Left room 8:02 -
Evolution 9:15 -
Disembarked 9:42 -
Back on board just before 11:00.
Evolution to Mickey = just over 2 hours.
