Fender: From Lap Steel Guitars to Telecaster.

BTR#36 - I came across an awesome vintage 1950 Fender Champion Lap Steel Guitar. This very nice instrument brings us back to the earliest days of the Fender company. As the guitar player G. E. Smith points out in the video, looking at the Champion, we can retrace the steps of the process of birth of Esquire, Broadcaster and Telecaster. In fact, Leo Fender passed on his first electric guitars with traditional "Spanish Neck", the technical solutions that he had already successfully experimented on his Champion Lap Steel model and gave rise to "the heyday of guitar".
