Insane Difference Round Bales Make on Low Quality Ground

6 weeks ago we broadcasted pelletized lime and then sorghum Sudan seed. We broadcast with a shoulder spreader into the pen the cows were in that day and into the next pen. We chose these two because we knew it was going to produce very much quality summer grazing forage. You can see the very short lime green colored sorghum struggling to grow above 3 feet. and then you see some in former round bale areas from this past winter and winter before where that stuff has barely started to go to seed and that stuff is at least 7 feet tall!! We just got a generic variety from ourselves local ag supply so it definitely doesnt have the BMR trait. We just wanted something to be growing and giving our cattle better forage so our better paddocks can have more rest.
