High Pressure Experiments part 1: Preparing the Gasket and closing the Diamond Anvil Cell

In this video, PhD Adrián Francisco-López and Kai-Xu show us their routine when doing high pressure experiments at ICMAB-CSIC with a diamond anvill cell (DAC). First, they prepare the gaskets: They mark them, indent them with the shape of the diamond, and then they drill a hole in the middle. After treating the gaskets, they show us how to succesfully close the cell with the minimun amount of pressure possible, once the samples and the rubies have been previously added inside.
