It boasts the highest natural output of hot spring water in Japan, with over 32,300 liters gushing out every minute — enough to fill approximately 230,000 oil drums in a single day. Thanks to this abundant flow, many ryokan (traditional inns) and hot spring facilities in Kusatsu are able to offer "free-flowing hot spring water" directly from the source.
