Grotte di Catullo: The legacy of an Ancient Roman Estate on Lake Garda

In this video, we will take you to Sirmione, where we will visit the beautiful ruins of a villa that, according to tradition, belonged to the family of Gaius Valerius Catullus. Through fragments of his most celebrated Carmina, we will delve into the historical context in which he lived and rose to prominence as one of the most influential and passionate poets of ancient Rome, during a period dominated by political figures such as Julius Caesar, who is also said to have been hosted here. 00:00:35 Carme 4, Section 1 Nugae, Liber Catullianus 00:02:34 Carme 31, Section 1 Nugae, Liber Catullianus 00:04:08 Carme 13, Section 1 Nugae, Liber Catullianus 00:05:34 Carme 5, Section 1 Nugae, Liber Catullianus 00:06:56 Carme 109, Section 3 Epigrammata, Liber Catullianus 00:08:08 Carme 58, Section 1 Nugae, Liber Catullianus 00:08:48 Carme 8, Section 1 Nugae, Liber Catullianus 00:09:34 Carme 85, Section 3 Epigrammata, Liber Catullianus 👉 ALL TRANSLATIONS ARE AVAILABLE HERE: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Transl... 🇮🇹 Iscriviti al nostro canale attivando le notifiche 🔔 Rimarrai aggiornato/a sui nostri prossimi video 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 Subscribe to our channel by clicking the bell 🔔 You will stay updated on our next videos 👉 SEGUICI SU - FOLLOW US ON:   / fuoridalsentiero     / fuoridalsentiero   🎶 MUSIC CREDITS: Vopna by Alexander Nakarada (CreatorChords) | https://creatorchords.com Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com Creative Commons / Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... --------------------------------------------- Vetur Frosti by Alexander Nakarada (CreatorChords) | https://creatorchords.com Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com Creative Commons / Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... #lagodigarda #lakegarda #gardasee
