At Nagaland’s first medical college, NIMSR, the classrooms may be under-prepared, makeshift, and students are still settling in. The infrastructure is still catching up with their new aspirations but a medical college, they say, isn’t just about education and jobs. It has immense potential to launch unexpected windfalls in public healthcare, promote research, and improve doctor-patient ratio.
