THE DEVILS SYMPHONY | Becoming Abstract | Interactive Hand Synth & Audio-Reactive Visuals

What happens when your movement becomes sound and your image becomes art? Developed for Studio 1 at RMIT, this project explores an interactive audiovisual experience where hand gestures control a synth in Ableton, while the audio drives visual distortion in TouchDesigner. Inspired by cosmic patterns and plasma-like movement, the project transforms the participant’s image into an abstract, evolving visualisation. The participant becomes both the controller and part of the artwork, exploring the connection between movement, sound and self-image. The development involved experimenting with hand tracking, particle effects and audio-reactive distortion. My aim was to create a playful experience where people could enjoy seeing themselves transformed through their own movements.
