This week's featured guest is Coach Pierre Curtis, Head Coach of the Furman University Women's Basketball program. Affectionately known by his players as "Coach P," Curtis became the eighth head coach in Furman women's basketball history on June 9, 2023. Since taking over the program, he has built a culture centered on leadership, accountability, and excellence. During the 2025–2026 season, he guided the Paladins to the best Southern Conference road record in program history, a milestone that earned him a contract extension from Furman University in May 2026. Coach Curtis spent a decade helping build the Furman program before becoming head coach, serving as an Assistant Coach (2013–2019) and later as Associate Head Coach (2019–2023), where he played an instrumental role in recruiting, player development, and multiple WNIT postseason appearances. Before arriving at Furman, he coached at Harrisonburg High School in Virginia, developing young talent and establishing himself as an emerging leader in the coaching profession. As a player, Curtis starred at James Madison University from 2006–2010, finishing his career as the program's all-time leader in starts, assists, and steals while scoring 1,237 career points. Following a brief professional basketball career in Germany, he dedicated his passion and knowledge to coaching the next generation of student-athletes.
