I Was Arrested Blocks From This Conference. Now I’m the Speaker.

I was arrested a few blocks from where this conference was held. This time, I was the one on stage. Free Speaker Rate Calculator: https://www.speakerslaunchpad.com/spe... Come behind the scenes with me at DC Startup & Tech Week. Before my fireside chat, I stood at a window overlooking the place where I first got arrested as a kid, and asked a question I can't shake: which one of the young people down there is next, and are we going to throw them away too? Then I went to work. I filled my own room, met founders after the mic, and shared the networking playbook I use at every conference. What you'll learn: • Why not every business should raise money, and why revenue out the gate is a strategy • Why a speaker's job starts before the mic (go fill your own room) • How to stop trying to meet everyone and find the 1 or 2 people who move the needle • How to lead every conversation with your mission so you walk out successful • Why you should add value while you're still in the room Chapters: 0:00 Tried as an adult at 15 0:34 The mission: should you even raise money? 1:07 8 minutes to stage 1:44 The view: arrested blocks from here 3:44 Fill your own room 4:22 After the mic 5:16 Respect the crew 5:34 The networking playbook 7:46 Business doesn't stop 7:58 Addy from Vibe Connect 8:38 The room after the room 10:09 Thank you, DC I'm Marcus Bullock, founder of Flikshop, TED speaker, and creator of The Speaker's Launchpad.
