Clemson vs. Cal Game Preview | 2026 ACC Football

It's the first-ever conference matchup between Clemson and Cal as the Tigers travel to the west coast to take on the Golden Bears for the first time since the 1992 Citrus Bowl. The Tigers are 9-9 all-time in first meetings with ACC opponents, are 9-2 in their last 11 regular season road games and are coming off a dramatic come-from-behind win over North Carolina. The Bears are off to a 2-1 start and have shown good balance in their wins over Syracuse and Wagner. The Tigers' Tait Reynolds gets his 2nd career start after leading Clemson to the win over the Tar Heels while Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele is looking to build off a career-high 413 yards and 3 touchdowns in last week's win. Both the Tigers and the Golden Bears' defenses are playing well, with Dabo Swinney's squad holding opponents to just over 100 yards rushing and Tosh Lupoi's defense has been opportunistic with 5 interceptions already on the year.
