How Small Earth Really Is (Even Compared to Nothing)

Earth feels enormous. You could walk your entire life and never see all of it. But Earth isn't enormous. Earth is so unimaginably small that by the time you finish this video, the word "small" won't feel strong enough anymore. In this calming long-form documentary, we explore every level of cosmic scale: planetary comparisons, stellar distances, galactic structure, the Local Group, Virgo Supercluster, Laniakea, the Great Attractor, cosmic filaments, the Hercules-Corona Borealis Great Wall, the Boötes Void, the observable universe, and finally the philosophy of cosmic insignificance. We also discuss the Pale Blue Dot photograph and Carl Sagan's reflection on Earth's place in the cosmos. #earth #astronomy #universe #cosmicperspective #spacedocumentary #solarsystem #space #spaceforsleep
