The Baredi dance is a traditional folk dance from the rural areas of Madhya Pradesh, particularly the Gwalior region, performed by the Aheer (Ahir), Gwala, Raut, and Rawat communities who are believed to be descendants of Lord Krishna. It is performed after Diwali, continuing until the full-moon day, and is characterized by melodies sung in a Q&A format, vibrant costumes, peacock quills, and dhoti worn by the dancers.
