Is Highlands the Coolest Town in North Carolina?

Lynn only asked for one thing for her birthday—70-degree weather instead of nearly 100—and Highlands, North Carolina delivered! We escaped to the mountains and found temperatures 20 degrees cooler, a charming downtown filled with shops and restaurants, and two unforgettable waterfalls: Bridal Veil Falls and Dry Falls. We also explored Reclamations Antiques, enjoyed a night out for Lynn’s birthday, and settled into the peaceful and aptly named Hidden Creek RV Park. But after experiencing the waterfalls, mountain air, shopping, food, and small-town charm, we had to ask: Is Highlands really the coolest town in North Carolina? Come along as we find out!
