More heavy rain is expected across southeastern Wisconsin tonight, with another 1–2 inches possible in some areas—in addition to what has already fallen.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday for Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties. The heaviest additional rainfall is expected near the Wisconsin–Illinois state line.
The severe-weather threat appears lower than it did Friday night. A few stronger storms remain possible, especially near Janesville, southwestern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, but heavy rain is the main concern.
I’ll also explain why the thunder has sounded unusually loud—and why it may be loud again tonight.
