RWB 964 Twin Turbo Porsche - Home Garage Build and Drive

1989 Porsche 964 transformed into an RWB 964 Twin Turbo — with Akira Nakai (Nakai-san), founder of RAUH-Welt Begriff (RWB), personally building the car in my home garage. The build started long before Nakai-san arrived - nearly 3 years. Before the RWB widebody kit went on, the 964 underwent an extensive performance transformation focused on making the car a track focused GT2 style street car that followed the roots of RWB as done when the cars were originally built to perform not built for a showroom. At the heart of the car is a fully built 3.8-liter twin-turbo Porsche 964 engine, managed by a Link standalone ECU. The turbo kit was designed and built by Protomotive to resemble that of a 993 GT2. The original all-wheel-drive configuration was converted to rear-wheel drive, and the drivetrain now features a fully built G50 transmission to handle the additional power. The engine and performance build was completed by MGM Motorsports in Pompano Beach, Florida. The RWB bodywork was meticulously prepared and painted by SFL Autobody and MTech Engineering, while Superior Auto Design handled the suspension work, big brake kit, wheels and tires. March 30th 2026 Nakai arrived directly from his US road trip to my garage to build the car. The build was a private build meant to be quiet and intimate with Nakai and some close friends. A project like this doesn't happen because of one person.
